Geotechnical

Investigation

Geotechnical Investigation consists of the research of the mechanical, hydraulic and engineering properties of soils, rocks and groundwater for the subsequent design of the foundations of structures.

Surveying Control Systems counts with a team of engineers and geologists with extensive experience in Geotechnical investigation in the fields of mining, forestry, public services, among others. Also, they have worked with some of the biggest mining companies in Chile, for example, in testing tailings dams’ soil and the compaction and permeability of tar as a dam for the slat.

For the Geotechnical investigation, Surveying Control Systems Ltda. uses a PANDA penetrometer.

Its main features are:

  • Allows to test quickly the compactness of soil.

  • Up to 8 meters deep in fine soil.

  • Measurement as precise as Cone Penetration Testing (CPT), with the advantage of being able to use in inaccessible places for CPT vehicles.

  • Excellent mobility in difficult access areas due to its compact size and lightweight.
